Laserforce Analyzer

A great little tool that's perfect for keeping track of player stats over time for leagues, tournaments, or members nights. Written by Xtreme from Oakleigh, I've found this to be an invaluable tool for tracking player developement and being able to back it up with numbers.

Laserforce in the News

File and write-up contributed by Stallion from Laserforce Wellington, NZ

This item screened on New Zealand's Channel One, Wednesday the 24th of March, 1999. It was the final (human interest) item on the shows Breakfast, Midday, and One Network News. About two weeks prior to this, after getting permission from Laserforce, I sent a press release to every news organisation I could think of, mainly for the hell of it. This ended up being the result; to my knowledge, still the most mainstream press item Laserforce has ever (to date) received.

Notable points. I know somethings that are said are naive. At this point no one from New Zealand had played outside our country, and with the exception of Thanatos, I had talked to no laserforce players outside the country either. So when I talk things up I'm both working the Australia vs New Zealand angle that the media loves (and the reason the item got made), and talking without the experience and knowledge I have of the game now. The "3000 games" comment was in reference to a bio of Traj that I found online at the time.

To sum up. This piece is now over 5 years old. It was made before NZ joined the community we have now. I'm sharing it now so we can all look back and have a laugh. And even while laughing at it, it's still national TV coverage of our game, on (at the time) the most watched news show this country has.

Enjoy.

Falco(Oak) getting pushed into a pool by Mental

How do you know you're an addict? When you write lyrics about members nights. That's how.
The mp3 in the above link was performed by xFukUx (Guitar/Vocals) and xThanatoSx(me) (Drums). The original backing track was done in my mom's garage on a little Tascam 4 track machine. Fuku wrote the lyrics and added them over the top later. Something to note - the backing track was one take. The only overdub/studio trickery was adding the vocals afterward.
